Beef Stroganoff

How To Prepare Beef Stroganoff/Stroganov

Life of a foodie is quite an interesting one.  It not only exposes you to diverse recipes across the globe but it equally exposes you to the deeper creativity that goes on the kitchen and how great chefs can transform just about anything into a great dish.

Beef stroganoff is a Russian recipe that I learnt and decided to try home cooking it and it came out just perfect,  one great trick about this dish is that it tastes greater than it looks. Though I made some little adjustment to the ingredients,  given to the fact that we are in Nigeria,  I had to use ingredients that you can quickly grab if you ever want to try the recipe.
So, to my Russian followers,  don't feel hurt if some  of your presuppose ingredients are incomplete.  Common,  cooking is all about creativity and innovation. #smiles

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED :

1. Beef stark (alternatively,  normal cow beef from the market)
2. Mushrooms (optional ) or sausage. I used sausage
3. Red and White onions
4, Garlic
5. Paprika
6. Youghurt or saur cream
7. Brandy
8. Corn flour or all purpose flour
9. Vinegar
10. Salt and seasoning cube
11. Butter or olive oil
12. Parsley leaf
13. Milk (optional )
14. Cucumber (gherkins)

PREPARATORY PROCESS :
Step 1 :
Slice the beef into cubes, marinade with salt, pepper and sweet paprika and set it aside.

Step 2 :
Slice the onions, cucumber, and parsley leaf and soak same in a vinegar adding a pinch of salt and set it aside.

Step 3 :
Set an empty pan on fire and add 1 tablespoon full of olive oil,  sprinkle pinch of salt on the mushroom and stir fry it, grate in one clove of garlic with the back and stir. Immediately sieve out the vegetables from the vinegar water and add them all into the mushrooms,  mix thoroughly and pour it out into a plate.

Step 4 :
Using same frying pan used for the mushrooms,  add 2 tablespoon full of olive oil and fry the marinaded beef stark,  flip continuously till its cooked, add one eating spoon full of dry corn flour or all purpose flour into the beef and stir till the beef are all glued to the corn flour,  immediately add one shot of brandy,  allow the fire on the surface of the pan to calm down, immediately add the mushrooms and stir.

Step 5 :
Add 4 tablespoon full of Youghurt and 2 spoon full of milk and cover

Step 6 :
Allow to cook for another 15 minutes to enable the sauce and the beef balance taste,  adjust seasoning and serve with any pasta of your choice.

Bon Appetit!
