How To Prepare Nigerian Okpa
Finally I gave myself the very desired meal.
Okpa |
1. Okpa flour (Bambara nut) Note that there are different species of this nut but all gives you same effect
2. Red oil
3. Maggi cubes
4. Habanero pepper
5. Warm water
PREPARATORY PROCESS :
STEP 1. Sift the already grounded flour into a bowl
2. Add salt and maggi cubes and mix thoroughly
3. Add enough quantity of palm oil and mix till the colour turns light yellow
4. Add warm water to the mixed flour and stir till lumps disappears
5. Add the sliced habanero pepper
6. Make sure you already have a boiling water on fire
7. Wrap the okpa with either leaf or nylon like I did here
8. Put into the already boiling pot on fire and cook with very high heat
9. Cook for an hour and check. You will know if it's done when it toughens in and out
PREPARATORY PROCESS FOR DRIED FISH.
Simply wash thoroughly to avoid sand
Blend fresh pepper and onions together
Put the fish into a pot and add the blended pepper and onions
Add a cube of maggi
Cook for 10 minutes.
Serve with your hot okpa.
