Home Made Cake

Have You Tried Baking It Yourself?

I'm basically more into cooking but I bake for fun now hence baking requires a whole lot of expertise which I basically can't combine with my line of job.  But back in the days while in school,  baking was a source of generating revenue for me.

In baking business for those of you that have so much interest and passion for baking,  one basic thing you should familiarise yourself with is measurements which is everything in baking.  Because one wrong measurement can make a huge mess out of your effort.

For beginners I advice you buy the measuring cups which doesn't cost much if you can't afford scale for now.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED/QUANTITY :

Self rising flour 250g
Nutmeg ( 1 / 2 tea spoon )
Baking powder ( 1 / 2 tea spoon )
Salt ( a pinch )
Egg ( 3 )
Butter ( 85g )
Sugar ( 150g )
Liquid milk (100ml )

PREPARATORY PROCESS :
Step 1 :
Put the sugar and butter into the cake mixer and alow to spin for maximum of 1hour i.e if your using the cake mixer but if not,  just put it into a deep bowl and keep stirring with spatula till the sugar and magrain is thoroughly mixed and fluffy in texture.

Step 2 :
Add 3 egg into the already mixed butter and sugar and on the mixer for another 2 minutes.

Step 3 :
Add the flour after sieving it along side, the milk, nutmeg, baking powder, chocolate (optional ) and all other cake syrups flavour that you decided to go with your cake and mix thoroughly

Step 4 :
Line your baking pan with a grease proof paper or butter to avoid sticking on the pan

Step 5 :
Pour the mixture into the pan and align its edges with a spatula.

Step 6 :
Endeavour to heat up your ovum to atleast 180ÂșC before putting it.

Step 7 :
Bake for about 40 minutes if using a small pan like mine

Step 8 :
To check if it's ready, dip a small knife into it and slip it out, if it comes out clean, then it's ready to be served.
Alow to get cold before serving.

Bon Appetit!
