How To Prepare Oha Soup.
Nigerians are blessed with varieties of meals to choose from and part of what makes Giant of Africans meals intriguing is the fact that it cost little or nothing to prepare them and alongside the fact that it's pretty easy to prepare too.
Today I will be taking you through the memory lane of one of my favourite soup, it's basically associated with the Eastern part of Nigeria.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED :
1. Oha leaf
2. Uziza leaf
3. Cocoyam ( for thickner )
5. Fresh pepper
6. Lobster (what you popularly call crayfish)
7. Stock fish
8. Dried fish
9. Red oil
PREPARATORY PROCESS :
Step 1 :
Wash your stock fish, dried fish and beef and put it into a pot, adding Cameroon pepper, onions and Onga maggi cube into it and set it on fire.
Step 2 :
Alow the meat to cook till its soft.
Step 3 :
Wash and boil the Cocoyam yam in a separate pot till its very soft, peel off the back with your hands and pound it using mortar and pestle or blend it.
Step 4 :
After the meat is thoroughly cooked, add the already blended cocoyam into the meat pot and cover allowing it to boil thoroughly until the Cocoyam dissolves into the meat stock giving it a thickening effect.
Step 5 :
Add 2 cooking spoon full of red oil and cover it. Allowing it to boil for 5 minutes.
Step 6 :
Wash the uziza leaf and oha leaf and slice them into your desired size and afterwards, add the uziza leaf and oha leaf alongside 2 cubes of Onga maggi cube and cover it allowing it to steam for 1 minutes.
Step 7 :
Put it down and serve it hot with any swallow of your choice.
