Moi - Moi.

How To Prepare Moi - Moi


You can use any method that is best known to you. Just use this as an added advantage.This is to the effect that moi moi is a very common and popular cuisine and often served at parties, dinners and special occasions and at that it's prepared with diverse methods.


Bear in mind that there are different ways of preparing this sumptuous moi moi but once in a while its expedient that you try another's method for varieties.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED :



1.  Beans (brown/white beans)
2.  Crayfish
3.  Maggi cubes
4.  Habanero pepper
5.  Grounded nutmeg
6.  Tatashi pepper
7.  Big onions
8.  Ice fish
9.  Vegetable oil
10. 1 litter of water warm water
11. Salt
12. Boiled egg
13. Liver
14. Corned beef.

BEFORE PREPARATION :
1.  Wash off the back of the beans by soaking it in cold water and pounding it gently with mortar and pestle, sieve out the water and rub your hands over the beans and continuously repeat same method till the back of the beans is thoroughly washed off.

2.  Blend the washed beans with onion, tatashi, crayfish, pepper, Haberuno pepper together using blender or grinder.

3.  Season the liver and fish with enough onions, maggi, curry and dry pepper and cook it till its done

4 :  Slice the liver

5 :  mash the ice fish

6.   Boil hot water

PREPARATORY PROCESS:
Step 1.
After blending the beans with other ingredients mentioned above, pour it             into a bowl.

Step 2.
 Add the vegetable oil, corned beef, salt, maggi, the mashed fish and sliced liver into the blended beans and stir


Step 3.
Pour your liver and fish stock into the blended beans and tastes for salt stir the blended beans thoroughly and wrap it up with leaf, foil or rubber Plate




 
Step 5 :
 Pad the base of a big pot, pour some water into it just small quantity of water      and set it on fire to start boilling before you add your already wrapped moi moi into the pot.

Step 6.
Alow to cook for at least 1 hour using average heat but note that it could be far more than an hour or even less depending on the quantity you are                           cooking and what you are using to cook it. Using oven will definitely be less         than an hour.

Endeavour to be sure that your very familiar with using oven cos things can get messy if your not familiar with it. Its better you stick to the traditional way of preparing it.




Remember you can enjoy your moi moi with stew or with custard or garri like the picture below.
